Comments from Instructor:
I've been training Arakan for over 8 years now and I've certainly had my ups and downs getting to this point which is a story in itself. The greatest part of undertaking my yellow belt journey was the fact that my life had to grow as my process towards my grading date became closer and closer. It's been one of my most challenging years of learning and growing as a person that I've found; the yellow belt grading is rewarding however how it moulds you and changes you into a better person all round in your life is priceless!
All of which you will need and have to dig deep on grading day, as it's by far, the toughest physical and mental process I've ever undertaken.
I’m grateful to have done this and I’m now excited to have the privilege to teach students who one day I hope will go through this journey too.

To me, training in Arakan Martial Art is like buying insurance for my car or my house. I bought an insurance for my safety,  at any time. I am my own  bodyguard and what I have learnt will stay with me forever. My self-confidence has grown so much, I feel a lot more safe and in control.

When ‘life happens’, it is an opportunity to rise up and show our strength and courage. With the recent pandemic hitting our shores, it meant some changes needed to happen with training, whilst conforming with the strict government regulations and hygiene protocols.

With our wellbeing and health being highlighted and taking precedence in most people’s lives, we felt it more important than ever before to help keep our members training. Numerous studies have shown that physical activity is linked to boosting our immune system as well as maintain physical and mental wellbeing.

Mental Wellbeing and Support During the Global Pandemic

As global citizens, we have all been adversely affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic. This might just be to our day-to-day socio-occupational routines and training regimes but most likely than not, it has affected our sense of security and certainty about the future to some extent. For some, it can be hard not to worry what the Pandemic and its socio-economic impacts can mean for ourselves, our families, friends and communities.
