Ensure Your Child’s Safety

Blog

Arakan Martial Art® is passionate about empowering children! Each year, Arakan Martial Art® holds a seminar geared towards teaching children self protection skills and techniques, to ensure their safety and wellbeing.

Arakan Martial Art® provides a safe, friendly and fun environment where children learn experientially, how to become more aware of danger and respond with efficient and effective self-protection techniques. Feedback from both parents and children has been extremely positive.

As parents, it is probably one of our greatest fears that our child disappears. Our hearts skip a beat, a lump forms in our throat, dread creeps in; we feel panic stricken.
If you’re lucky, your child has just simply been blocked from view temporarily by an object or popped over to a friend’s house without telling you. However, there is always the chance that it may be something more sinister; our worst nightmare.

So how do we ensure our child’s safety?

Arakan Martial Art® will teach your child to adapt too many situations and environments, becoming dynamic, adaptable and capable of ensuring the safety and wellbeing of themselves and others.

We have been teaching this on the Gold Coast and Brisbane for over 25 years and more recently expanded into Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, for the past 5 years.

Our goal is to empower your child and ensure they are equipped with skills and techniques to ensure their safety and wellbeing. Attributes which will also transition into greater areas of their life as they develop into adulthood.

Your child will learn to protect themselves against potential grabs, punches, kicks, tackles etc. in an experiential way. This enables your child’s awareness to become more heightened and the ability to identify a potential situation increases. This also raises your child’s threshold and prepares them emotionally and mentally should a situation occur in real life.

All Arakan Martial Art® lessons are conducted in a safe, fun and friendly environment. Lessons are structured in a playful and disciplined way, to ensure your child receives the most benefits. Your child will learn self protection skills and techniques, whilst becoming more empowered, build their self confidence, focus and discipline. We have your child’s very best interests at heart and we are here to be of service and take great pride and responsibility in our role.

Not long before I started training in Arakan Martial Art I was held up in a pharmacy. I realised then that I had absolutely no idea of how to deal with this type of situation. Arakan is helping me to explore and develop another side to myself and I love the fact that if I ever felt threatened I might now have some idea of what to do. Starting Arakan is probably the best decision I have ever made.

Being in the Moment
Contrary to what many people think, a long term disciplined practice in martial arts can help you become more tolerant, calm and peaceful, rather than aggressive.
Many people avoid training in a martial art because they’re “not a violent person”,  in fact, it’s a misconception that martial arts equates to violence.  This misconception actually robs people of a martial arts journey as well as the massive array of benefits that form part of that journey.

Time - the key to success

In todays’ society we expect so much so quickly. There is always so much pressure on ourselves and people around us to gain immediate results, no matter what the venture maybe.

Our concept of time has changed dramatically; I often hear comments such as, “I have been training for so long now, it’s been almost three years,” and “I have given myself three months to see if my new business can make big profits,” and “it’s time to find a new job, I have been in this same job for two years, it’s been too long.”

Malcolm Gladwell, in his book Outliers states that it takes 10,000 hours for someone to master a topic...
