When ‘life happens’, it is an opportunity to rise up and show our strength and courage. With the recent pandemic hitting our shores, it meant some changes needed to happen with training, whilst conforming with the strict government regulations and hygiene protocols.

With our wellbeing and health being highlighted and taking precedence in most people’s lives, we felt it more important than ever before to help keep our members training. Numerous studies have shown that physical activity is linked to boosting our immune system as well as maintain physical and mental wellbeing.

To ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students and to keep them training, we quickly adapted our training methods and implemented ‘social distancing private lessons’ and introduced lessons via online video such as Skype®, Zoom® or FaceTime.

Our first member’s only free Zoom® lesson had over 200 members join and crash the system. We quickly re-established connection and everyone enjoyed an amazing lesson.

Whether you have moved to a remote area or even another state or country, this has quickly established as another way to continue your Arakan journey.

My journey as an Arakan student for some years now has provided me with the necessary tools in life to approach any challenge with confidence, focus and power. The ability to respond to sudden conflicts and manage stress in a positive and measured way is only just one of the benefits this martial art espouses in its ethos and training. It has even assisted me greatly in improving my golf swing and game overall which came as a wonderful surprise that I attribute to my Arakan journey. I have the highest respect and gratitude for my instructors and fellow students. I’m proud to be an active member of the Arakan community.
